Eriocaulon - Pipewort

Fairly common along sandy shores in clear, slightly acidic lakes and ponds. Button-shaped flower stalks are generally emergent from the water. Lake bottom may be covered with star-shaped arrangement of basal leaves without stalks. Note that basal leaves are pointed.
